I have taught mathematics in classroom and tuition centre settings for over 30 years with great success. The rapport that you develop with each child is an investment that pays back ten-fold when they experience your enthusiasm and begin to interact and grow as mathematicians. I believe online tuition is the best way to increase you child’s engagement and love of learning maths.

The majority of my tutoring is completed online. If you live in the Shaftesbury area, we can discuss in person tutoring if you think this will be a better option for your child. I've also worked with adults from home and found the rapport we've built really helps them gain a renewed interest in maths and go on the achieve passes in their exams.

All sessions are 100% customized to fit the needs of your child. As a teacher, I learned quickly that one size does not fit all! During our phone call, I will take the time to learn about your child's learning style, strengths, and weaknesses. I will give your child a FREE online assessment to understand where they are at in regards to their maths level. This will guide the rest of our tutoring sessions. If you decide to enrol for lessons with me I will send you an enrolment form and our Terms and Conditions. We will agree the time slots for lessons to take place. During all 1-1 sessions following the assessment, the student and I will work on their deficiencies in maths and make strides to get them up to an agreed level. Working on a specific level already?! Great! I will help them advance even more in their studies. I can help them “catch up, keep up and move up”. All lessons will be planned based on the assessment given during our initial contact unless you request otherwise. If your child needs help with homework, I can do that! If there is a certain topic/exam you would like to discuss, I'm all ears! Just let me know prior to our session. As time progresses the lessons will evolve to target new areas as they arise.

I tutor in 60-minute blocks and find all ages can manage this with the variety of stimulating, interactive tasks and activities I have planned. These will be appropriate to their ability. We may spend between 10-15 minutes on each task before moving on, so the lesson is always well paced, enjoyable and fun. Of course, you know your child best, so please discuss any concentration concerns with me.

If you cancel more than 24 hours before the start time of the lesson, I will allow you to reschedule it at your earliest convenience. If you cancel within the 24 hour window, you will be charged for the missed session. I understand that emergencies do happen, so if there is a family emergency or an illness that would prevent your child from focusing on their session, please let me know as soon as possible and I will do my best to accommodate this. Please understand that I cannot always reschedule sessions. If no notification is given, and your child doesn’t log on for their session, you will still be charged the full amount.

Possibly. I typically work Monday through Thursday. If you would like to schedule an appointment that is outside of the listed days, please contact me and I will accommodate your request if my schedule allows.

I will send you an e-mail at the time of enrolment with my bank details so you can make a bank transfer. To remain on the lesson register, you must pay at least 24 hours prior to the start of our session. You can pay weekly or in blocks.

All lessons booked are payable in advance. I offer 60 minute 1-1 sessions for £34/hour. However, you can book blocks of 10 lesson or more to ensure you have the same time slot every week and the fee is then £32/hour. Session times are by prior arrangement and can take place during the day or after school/work. A condition of enrolment is that you give two lessons notice.
